Fasting

Greet from WWV,we hope your day is off to an amazing start. Today we discussed how seasoned Christians are beginning to serve God out of routine, meaning that we haven't removed things that need to be removed out of our lives. The closer we get to God certain things shouldn't be ok with our spirit man. We will do all these religious acts to make us feel good but, God knows our heart. Symptoms of serving God out of routine may include: quarreling, pretense, and pointing the finger. The only way to keep our mind in check during these times is to fast. Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? Wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find your own pleasure, and exact all your labors. Isaiah 58:3 The purpose of fasting is making your voice heard on high. Before fasting we should seek God for instructions: what to fast from, when to start and stop, and most of all what are you fasting for? Fasting requires concentrated effort and you have to depend on God to get you through it. We cannot do it on our own. During this time we have to know that we will be under attack in all areas, but take courage for God is with you. We have to know that we cannot overcome in our own strengths, we have to deny ourselves and put our trust solely in God. We have to set our flesh aside and deal with our spirit man. Create in me a clean heart O God: and renew a right spirit within me. Psalms 51:10 All things are lawful for me: but not all things are expedient. All things are lawful for me:but i will not be brought under the power of any. Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats; but God bring to nought both it and them. But the body is for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body: and God both raised the Lord, and will raise up us through his power. 1 Corinthians 6:12-14 It's not by your own power, it's only God's!
